ThingWorx 9.3.1 menu bar accordion auto close

In the ThingWorx menu bar, on selecting an item, already opened accordion sections should be closed automatically. This "StayOpenOnSelection" feature is not available in ThingWorx 9.3.1 but it is available in 9.3.3 and its later versions (as per the support.ptc.com site). Is there any possibility to inherit this feature alone in 9.3.1? Is it fair to migrate to 9.3.3, will there be any compatibility issues? Please advice.

Take a look here:

The version is upgraded to 9.3.3 from 9.3.1 and able to see the "StayOpenOnSelection" option in the menubar, but the option is not working. I tried with both enabling and disabling the option, but no impact on the menu bar.

Hi @SKannapiran.

Can you send us your mashup with the menubar so we can try to reproduce the issue?

Thanks.

Hi @SKannapiran.

We weren't able to fully test this since we didn't have much of the navigation you had configured, but it appears the problem is due to competing options.  Try deselecting AlwaysOpen and see if that fixes it for you.  It seems that AlwaysOpen takes precedence over the StayOpenOnSelection option.

Regards.

Hi Sharon,

After deselecting "AlwaysOpen", the menu bar went to compact mode. But we want auto close the opened accordion section in menu.

Hi @SKannapiran.

It doesn't appear that this is designed to work the way you expected.  If the menu bar auto closed, how would the user reopen it?  Is that actually what you were expecting?

If you can provide details of your workflow, we might be able to determine a solution.  For example, when should the menu bar be closed?

If we're unable to provide a solution, you can submit a request for it on the ThingWorx Ideas forum for consideration in a future release.  If you submit an Idea, be sure to provide all details of what you are expecting.  Including a demo or screenshots would be helpful.

Regards.

Hi @slangley,

In my ThingWorx 9.3.1 menu bar, on selecting a menu item, already opened accordion section is not collapsing automatically.

When gone through support.ptc.com site, it is mentioned that the auto collapsible menu option is available in 9.3.3 and its later versions. Hence, we upgraded the version to 9.3.8, to explore the "StayOpenOnSelection" feature. We set the value as 'false' for the StayOpenOnSelection" property (as recommended by PTC) but it is not making the menu auto collapsible. Hope this clarifies.

Thanks,

Hi @SKannapiran.

What is the AlwaysOpen option set to?  It still sounds like you still have a conflict between features.  In our testing, we weren't able to determine an issue aside from the fact that when Always Open is not selected, there isn't an option to open the mashup with the menu expanded.

Regards.
