Enhancement Request - Ability to Create Mark-ups in Worksheets

I regularly use Mathcad to create calculations for stamped calc package submissions. This usually involves inserting screenshots and other images into worksheets to clarify my intent. In addition, I often need to add mark-ups like circles or boxes around points of interest or text with leader lines. I currently have to add these mark-ups in Bluebeam after printing the Mathcad worksheet. It would be great if Mathcad had options to add simple mark-ups / annotations in-program. Are there any plans to implement something like that? Thank you.

Hi,

This is something I also would like to see in Mathcad - I am used to the work flow you’re using, and I find myself often wanting to add annotations to regions or simple shapes to highlight parts of the worksheet. It’s not something we’ve been able to schedule into a release yet as it’s not something that was in the legacy version or something that has made it to the top of the priority list from customer feedback. It is something we do get feedback on quite regularly, and it is something I want us to be able to provide in a future release - I just don’t have a timeline for it yet. Maybe we’d split it up into a number of projects, with simple shapes first - boxes, circles, arrows, etc., and then comments associated to regions.

Out of interest, how would you expect printing to be handled for these annotations/shapes? If we did need to split this project up, which would you deem more important for you to see first in the application.

Many thanks,

Andy.

Thanks Andy, that’s good to know. I think that comments associated to regions, or some kind of annotation with pointer arrow (called a “callout” in Bluebeam), would be the most useful tool to have first.

I’m not sure what you’re asking with your question about the handling of printing. Can you clarify?
