Pro/M Analysis of Original PDMLink Files

We have always done a "File/Backup..." of Pro/E files outside of PDMLink
to a local directory and done FEA analysis there.

The problem is when we update the original files we must remember to
also update the copied files in the same manner, then repeat the
analysis of the copies.

Does anyone perform Pro/M analyses on parts within a PDMLink workspace,
and do you check-in all those files afterwards, thereby preserving the
entirety of the analyses within PDMLink?

Or is the standard technique still to "Files/Backup..." the files out of
PDMLink, and keep all the massive stress analyses outside of PDMLink?

There is the Pro/M "Output Files" directory and the Pro/M "Temporary
Files" directory. Even if only the "output" directory were within a
PDMLink Workspace, what would that directory be named?

Thanks,
Jeff

It might be worth while for you to read through a PTC User presentation
by Erick Couch given a few years back about this topic (See attached).

You can set the output directories so that they output to your working
directory (which is different than your workspace). In this manner, the
results are not stored in PDMLink.
