We are researching the possibility of migrating away from an Excel Spreadsheet and start using a Table on our drawings. Does anyone have interest in working on this type of definition for a best practice and possible table files to share.
Our company needs are as follows.
1 - Display more than one BOM in the table (I.E. tabulated assemblies were -001 item 1 is one number & -002 is a different number.) Essentially we would be displaying both assembly structures for a drawing with 2 set models.
2 - Define use of Bulk Items or empty parts for non-proe type drawings with non-typical quantities. (I.E. mil-spec parts, catalog items; Unit of measure equals = inches, ounces, etc)
3 - Defining attributes to be populated
4 - Auto Numbering, PDM attribute data entry, and approval process in PDM
5 - Export Reports of table
6 - ProE Assembly Structure, component order, table reorder best practice
I am sure with a group of individuals we can leverage our knowledge and develop a generic table that others could leverage and learn from. I see a lot of potential with my current research to minimize the resource time currently required to document a drawing.
