Drawing fails to show some dimensions

Pro Experts

I have a drafter that is updating a ProE drawing that was previously done. He had to make some minor changes. He brings up the drawing an it's missing some dimensions. He goes to CommonSpace and highlights that drawing and does a right mouse button click. He highlights information and a window pops up with info about that drawing and also a preview of that drawing. The preview shows all the dimensions. Both versions of the drawing are the same. What is going on?I brought up this drawig up on several different machines and it does the same thing. Can Anyone help? Thanks in advance

Don,

Just for the heck of it... Try the following in the drawing:
VIEW, UPDATE, ALL SHEETS

See if that fixes the problem.

Lots of possibilites more often than not, we see this with created
dimensions on an instance of a generic part. A dimension is created on
"instance A" drawing. The drawing is copied over and it is replaced with
"instance B". The dimension is deleted from the "instance B" drawing and
since it is stored with the generic part it removes the dimension from the
"instance A" drawing too. This problem can be solved by using shown
dimensions (do not get into a discussion on shown vs created) or by
erasing the unwanted dimension instead of deleting it.

Not to open the shown vs. created discussion, but if the features were
redefined, then shown dimensions could disappear. If you redefine the
section, delete a dimension and then even recreate the same dimension,
it will not show up automatically in an existing drawing. This is one of
the reasons I prefer drafted dimensions (created dimensions saved in the
drawing file). The dimension would at least still be there, just purple,
which you can fix with edit attachment, or just recreate it quickly. The
purple dimension that some people hate so much, is an indicator to the
drafter that geometry had been redefined without just dropping the
dimension.

Gurus,

I am adding dimensions in a drawing and I noticed that all of my new
dimension names have an extra d (see image).

cid:image003.jpg@01CB59A7.8D97D6E0

I am trying to move the g4 gtol to the add0 dimension but Pro/E won't
let me.

I'm thinking this a config option thing.

Is there something new related to creating drawing dimensions?

How do I create an ad5 instead of an add0 dimension?

Thanks,

Eric
