ThanksSorry this took so long.
I’m still not sure about their origin but my guess is that these were created during some renaming I did in the workspace. The files were new items going into PDM so I don’t know if there was a problem with them before I got them into the W/S or not. Turning on the "Auto Resolve Incomplete Documents" during Checkin allowed me to get everything checked in. However the incomplete objects still showed up when I checked out the drawing later that week. Under the Details for each “incomplete object” there was a replace option in the actions menu. I replaced them with the renamed object and that got rid of them. I’m sure PDM-link is hanging on to them in some form but for now I do not see them in the W/S list and all items are now properly named.
Thank you to all that responded.

What are these “Place holder (A.K.A. incomplete CAD documents) and how do I get rid of them?
I have in my workspace 4 documents that show up in the list as “incomplete Cad Documents” according to the icon’s screen tip info. There is no option to open them and as far as I can tell they are not part of the assembly being used in the drawing. When I try to remove them from the workspace the operation fails because they are showing up as a child of the drawing. I’ve checked and they are not added as an additional drawing model.
I get the following error message when I try to check in drawing and ASM files….”CannotcheckinplaceholderdocumentCADPart-XXXX_blah_blah_09.prt”We’re using WF4.0 m100 & pdm-Link 9.1
