make a cut by subtract intsection

I am using Wildfire 4 I want to make a cut into a part by mating two parts and then subtracting the intersecting geometry from the first part. thus effectuall using the second part geometry as the cutting boundry. I believe this is done in an assembly with the first part active. A perfect fit

William, Edit/Component Operations/CutOut, then follow the prompts. You can do this with a temporary assembly, and you can choose whether or not changes to the original reference parts will cause updated changes to the resultant cut part. David
