Material definition

Dear Gurus,

When i create a new material in Pro/Mechanica integrated mode, the file is
available for that working directory only. How can i save the file so that
it can be used for all the required directories.

Also can some one help me to get the resource of the material properties
data?

Regards,

Dharmesh.

When u save yr new material, a file called "mmatl.lib" is saved to yr
working directory. U can either ;
1. copy to yr home directory (so only u can access yr updated lib
everytime u start Mechanica irrespective of yr working dir)

2. copy to Mechanica/i486_nt/lib directory (the original mmatl.lib file
is kept here) so that all users using yr computer can access yr updated
materials.

Try www.matweb.com for material properties.

Good luck. Hope this help.

Roland

Or you can also put it in you current working directory, for a specific
project. (as per help info below)

When you access the material library, Mechanica looks for the mmatl.lib
file in dirs in this order:
1) (working directory)
2) your home directory
3) C:\Program Files\mechWildfire 2.0\i486_nt\lib

Sorry Roland, you gave the complete answer. I didn't read the original
question before adding my "help"
