Dear Community
Version: Creo Illustrate Professional 10.0.0.0
I would like to display the sequence step description on the published PDF.
There is no setting to configure it in the PDF template:
Is there some workaround or hidden attribute to enable it?
Best wishes and thanks for your help
Alex

Hi Alex,
I overlooked the fact you were using a PDF template and it looks like the step description does not get included when using a template. This would certainly be a good candidate for a product idea, to include the descriptions when using a template.
Using Arbortext would certainly give you a much more comprehensive solution but I can't comment on the details of what you can and can't do I'm afraid.
Maybe somebody else on the forum can comment with some guidance on Arbortext.
Regards
Adrian
I take it these are 3D PDFs you are publishing?
Currently the step descriptions do not get included when publishing to 3D PDF, this would be a good candidate for an Product Idea.

The step descriptions are included in image based PDFs however.
Hi Agarland
I changed it to Image PDF and it doesn't work either (settings in picture below). It does work if I select PNG, but then I have to put the images into another tool for the formatting.
When creating Step by Step instructions with Creo Illustrate, what is the workflow to have an instruction with pictures and text? Do I need Arbortext?
Best wishes
Alex

Hi Adrian
Thank you for your input, there is a lot that could be improved in the step description area. If you can tell me who is responsible for the product development we could set up a short teams call and discuss the functions, that our customers would like.
Windchill MPM-link uses the Illustrate sequences too, I haven't used it yet and can't tell how the information is added for those instructions. I'm sure a nice animation is not enough if there are screws to be torqued etc.
Best wishes
