Is there any way to have a cursor select setting that only selects top level components in the structure in Creo View MCAD (aside from the top level assembly)?
Your post appears well documented but has not yet received any response. I am replying to raise awareness. Hopefully, another community member will be able to help.
Also, feel free to add any additional information you think might be relevant. It sometimes helps to have screenshots to better understand what you are trying to do.
@Trebla The auto-jump to parts in my model tree when I select stuff is the first thing I disabled, as it's annoying and messing up my collapsed model tree view. So using left arrow key wouldn't work in that case. @JosephTC You can also use the "Select Related" feature. It can be pinned next to the model tree as well.
Select Related @Catalina But it still is a nuisance to click so many times in Creo. When you're shifting/puzzling in a layout a lot, it gets annoying. In Inventor, you can just set a filter to either select lowest level (part) or top level (assy) in the current layout. Would be nice to a have similar filter option in Creo, as @JosephTC suggested with his screenshot.
Update: My above comments are based on Creo. Just noticed initial topic was about Creo View.
