All,
I am looking at upgrading my seat of Pro|E and I was wondering if anybody can tell me whether or not Wildfire 4.0 contains the basic Mechanisms package that I can use to animate "stuff". I do not need the enhanced mechanisms extension, but just the very basic ablity to simultaneously translate and rotate parts of a mechanism.
Sincerely,
Neal Rosenblum

Neal,
Pro/ENGINEER Foundation XE does indeed contain Mechanism capabilities. You can create all kinds of joints, cams, gears, create motion envelopesetc and also drive and measure velocities and accelerations. Also, Foundation XE contains Design Animation, which allows "free" animation like assembly/disassembly with different views @ time and other visual functions. You can also include playback of mechanisms in your animation.
Beyond this,to anlayzethe effects of Dynamics, which takes into acccount Inertia, Friction, Forces, Torques, Springs and Dampersetc, you need the Mechanism Dynamics Option license, which is not included in Foundation XE.
Best regards / Petter
