HI Everyone I have a part that I started as a normal part and then converted it to sheet metal by using the application function. Now I want to add extrusions to the part but as soon as i add one it takes away the 'create bend' function on the right. All i want to add is a circle extruded out 2mm. Do I have to merge them together? Any ideas? Thanx Rene This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Since you are in sheetmetal the only kind of extrude you will be able to do is a cut. If you need an embossed circle on your piece of sheetmetal you can use the create form command.
Rene, As Ryan stated you will need to create an emboss die or punch first then you can add it to your sheet metal wall. I would suggest that you ask your sheet metal vendor/mfg for there standard circular embosses. better to go first with a standard die then to create a custom part.
question: why are you converting solid part to sheetmetal, if you know it will be s sheetmetal part it is better to start that way from the start. Also, you can not add the die/punch form in the solid part and then convert to sheetmetal.
Hi Carlos I receive dxf file from clients,if I convert a dxf file to a pro/e file it automaticly makes it a solid part, then I have to convert it to sheetmetal for bending Hope this makes sense to you
