Some of the links on the web to mechanism demos are dead. I attached ones I have.

1. Mechanism Design (wrench tutorial) PDF with proe parts

2. Advanced Mechanisms PDF

Does anyone know where I can find release notes on the different
datecodes?

We're on m090 but I want to update because I'm getting random crashes
from time to time. I've searched ptc.com and cannot find info on the
different releases.

Thanks,
Matt

I have a tutorial that I developed based on material from the PTC web site. I'm attaching it. If you have any questions you can contact me directly at carol.rubin@vanderbilt.edu.

PTC does not have release notes for inidividual builds. They used to have an online tool (called the update advisor)to listlist the SPRs that were fixed between builds. The update advisor was taken offline some month ago.PTC says it will be back sometime this summer.

Hi Matt

We are using WF3 M140.

There is also a website listing the datecode but the guys seem to rely on the users to update their list. I told them about WF3 M140 🙂

Pro's,

I've started playing around in mech design again & have a question.

If I create a mechanism assembly, I can run the assembly through its
motions with no problems, but, if
I then assemble that assembly into another one, it doesn't seem to
recognize the connections & wants to suppress the connections
when I try to open that in mechanism design.

Could I be overlooking a config setting or are my methods wrong?

Thanks for any help & have a great weekend,

John

John,

From the little I have done with mechanisms, I have noticed similar problems when the second assembly violates the mechanism design. For example, if I create a hydraulic cylinder in mechanism to slide in and out, I will set the stroke limits in the translation definition. The cylinder mechanism works fine by itself. If I place that cylinder into an assembly that causes the stroke to fall outside the prescribed limits, I will get a message saying that the mechanism connections are no longer valid.

Hope this helps a little.
