The Mechanism module in ProE can do analysis on both dynamic and kinematic motion, Don't know much about it, just stating to learn about that module. kinematic motion is supported. Rick

You need to have an assembly created before "mechanism" will show in the application tool bar. Rick

my question was in reference to what equations the pro engineer program uses to solve the simulations as opposed to how to perform an analysis. sorry about the misunderstanding

o,it seems you should learn from ptc expert:)

I use vector loop equations to solve Kinematic problems by hand, I have no clue how ProE handles the math, sorry didn't know that was you're question. Rick

Kuang-Hua Chang's book on Mechanism Design by SDC publications is a good book on the subject, he uses the analytical math equations to verify the the Pro/E results. regards Rick

HI friends, I have created an mechanism of two bodies using kineamtic type and using Planar constraint. BY setting servo motor and type as Kinematic in Analysis definition, if i run it, its going correctly in horizontal and vertical direction. But, if i use the type as Position in Analysis Definition, its rotating.. i need to solve this, because i need to take this mechanism in to Animation module.. whereas the animation module is accepting only the Position type... Please help me to fix this issue. Thanks, Balaji
