5.3 release but no license keys?

is that possible that we can now download arbortext editor 5.3 but
can not get a license key for it over the ptc.com online license
manager? we have a current maintenance contract.

or are swiss customers cut off the rest of the world? after ptc
support i'am not the first customer with no access to 5.3 license key.

You are lucky down there in Switzerland! I STILL can't even download
5.3 (also with active maintenance contract!) from France. I fail to see
why it takes so long until all customers with active maintenance
contract get an access: the delay compared to the official release date
is now about two weeks and I have planned an installation for this 5.3
version for validation for this date (which had already been moved
compared to the initial planning if I remember correctly). We have an
important publication scheduled, and need to validate carefully the new
version before using it in production, as the past has shown that
especially the composing engine can behave rather different (sometimes
erroneous) from version to version.

I'm desperately waiting for this download.

To the attention of Claire Romagna: I'll ask for a 4 per cent reduction
of my maintenance cost for next year (of course increasing if it takes
even
longer!) equivalent to this 2 weeks delay.

Hi Frank,

It's possible. And regrettable if true. I will investigate why the
Arbortext licensing system does not show the 5.3 release.

Have you tried using a 5.2 license key with 5.3? I'm not absolutely
certain, but I think it will work just fine.

We are investigating the problem.

In the meantime, I understand that some people have been able to access
the release by following this link even though it's not supposed to work
for anyone but me:

Set the APTLICDIR environment variable to point to a license directory
for a previously licensed version. Then you can install the new one on
the same computer and it should work as long as the licensed features
set is the same.
