CGM files

Has anyone experienced any problems with bringing in CGM files to Arbortext? The CGM files were created with Corel X3 and when I call them out in my Arbortext 5.4, CPA 1.6 document, so much extra space is inserted around the graphic that the title gets pushed off the page. I have put the hscale and vscales to 80 and also tried turning scalefit on but the title gets pushed off the page. Using a tif file gives me light lines around the borders of the graphic, which is unacceptable. Has anyone found a way around this?

The guess around here is that it has something to do with the CGM equivalent of the "bounding box", which may be called "view extent"(?) in Corel. Perhaps Corel is setting the "bounding box" of the drawing to be the entire Corel "art board" (or whatever it's called) instead of the minimum necessary for the actual art. This should be configurable in Corel, but since we have no Corel experts around here, I can't say for sure.

Take a look at the settings in the CGM file. Look for the Virtual Display
Units (VDU) and see what the value is. I know with IsoDraw there is a
preference setting to set the VDU to about 3 different things., One kept
this virtual outline to the visibile graphics the other two included more
white space to keep control points and other objects inside these
coordinates. Not sure how this would be set in Corel.

Anyway, Arbortext seems to use this virtaul page size instead of any other
values. Get that set correctly and graphic should fill the page.
