Question

Compiling SGML doctype from 5.4 to 6.1 missing file?

Here's a new one...

I have an install of PE 6.1 M030 I have stood up and started testing. I have checked and tested, license is good, everything works fine for XML doctypes. So I recompiled my SGML doctypes, and tested a document, and get a failure back from PE when using an Editor client. I tried an f=convert to see what was going on, and I am getting this error returned:

]]></log4j:message>
</log4j:event>

Anyone know what an *.decelb file is? New to me...

I recompiled this doctype a few times, even blew away the *.ptd file to force a rewrite. So far, no good. Anyone seen this before?

    Hi,

I don't have a solution for you but just wanted to weight in that I've compiled a couple sgml DTDs using 6.1 and it generally creates both a .decelb file and a .proelb file in the DTD directory as part of the process. I'm guessing that these are 6.1 additions as it also creates a .dec and .pro file as well. I am not using PE however, but just compiling them at my desktop using AEditor.

I'm getting this error too, using 6.0, when trying to print preview using pe.

I opened a case about this and apparently AE 64-bit versions create the .decelb files and 32-bit versions create the .dec files. We were using 32-bit clients with the 64-bit pe server. We updated the client to 64-bit and recompiled the doctype and then we were able to print preview/pdf. (But now .cgms are not visible in the editor window).

    Caroline,

I had the same problem when I moved from 32-bit to 64-bit AE. Do you have IsoView installed separately?

I had to uninstall everything to do with 32-bit AE, including IsoView. Otherwise, something gets caught in the registration pointing to the 32-bit version of IsoView that is installed whether separately or the default IsoView installed with AE.

    Hope that helps.

    Jeff

    Hi Jeff,

You had the same problem with not being able to see .cgm graphics in the editor window, or not being able to print preview/pdf (or both)? And does that mean we uninstall Isoview and don'treinstall? I see there is an Isoview folder in the C:\Program Files (x86)\PTC folder but not C:\Program Files\PTC.

    Hi Caroline,

I couldn't see the cgm graphics anymore.

From what you describe, it sounds like IsoView is installed separately. I would uninstall everything (Editor x64/x32 & ISOView) then reinstall Editor x64. Editor should use it's default ISOView and the the cgm should appear again.

The problem is that x32 and x64 applications cannot communicate with each other.

    Hope that helps!

    Jeff
