Ah for the good old days of FOSI 'userules'. Now they are still there, but no where near as 'robust' (sic) as in the earlier versions of 28001. I forget the exact number, but there were sereral to allow sorting of various things like AF TO numbers 5A1-XX-XXX-2 would come before 33K-1-100. Or part numbers (like what you are showing). Sorts aren't just numeric (though if you look at the DEFAULT WINDOZE XP explorer sort, you'd wonder).
If you don't have the ability to append zero's, you are going to have a difficult time of this. I'm sure there are ways to make these sorts work, but I'm not ready to go there just yet.
