How to Determine the Datecode of the Arbortext Publishing Engine

PTC support requires that I enter a datecode for the version of the
product I am using. The PTC site indicates that the datecode should be
available from the Help --> About --> Version screen within Arbortext.
All I see is a version number (5.2) and a build number (MPL-2037). I get
this same information when using the servlet to request the version of
the Publishing Engine (Version 5.2 - Build MPL-2037). None of this
information matches the datecode options on the PTC website: M10, M20,
etc... Does anyone know how to determine the datecode for the version of
the Arbortext Publishing Engine we are using?

You can log onto the PE server, launch PE Interactive and then go to Help
> About Arbortext PE Interactive > Version.

It sounds like you have Arbortext 5.2 F000, where F000 is the foundation
or initial release. The M's indicate subsequent maintenance releases.

If you don't see any M's, then you probably have the straight 5.2 version.
If this is true, your Arbortext version screen should display "Version
5.2" on the top line and the MPL build number on the next line.

Mine looks like this:
Version 5.2 M020
July 1, 2006 (MPLP2-168)

Another option to find out what version you are using assuming you're not hitting the web page is to look in the install directory for a folder called "install". In this directory, there is a file called "patchlvl.txt". This file is in all the Arbortext installs and contains the current installed version. It will look something like this:

Version 11.3 M010
February 3, 2007
Version 5.3 M010

Hope this helps...

Bob
