NX Files in IsoDraw?

Hello, Does anyone know if IsoDraw (PTC) will form an agreement with Siemens to allow for a direct data interchange of NX (prt) files into IsoDraw? Our CAD system is NX and we would like to be able to utilize the NX native files directly rather than translated file formats such as STEP or IGES. Thanks Gerald

I've imported .prt files from ProE without problem. If you send me a sample file I'll try it.

Hi Trevor, We actually have IsoDraw and already tried opening NX and JT files. Will not work. I was hoping someone might know if in the horizon, the next version of IsoDraw will include an NX and/or JT direct translation inot IsoDraw rather than relying on an IGES file format. Thanks Gerald

Hi Gerald,

If Step format is available for exporting you should use that format, Even most third party CAD to CAD or CAD to Viewable (ie JT) translators use STEP or a middle format in the background.

As for IsoDraw to have a direct NX data interchange is highly unlikely unless a third party developed it and most likely it would do a STEP translation in the background...

Arbortext IsoDraw supports CreoView Adapters which enable you to import "JT" files fron NX and Teamcenter. The CreoView Adapters can be purchased separatey.
