PostScript

Can you specify PostScript Level 2? Level 2 does compress the size of the
PostScript file, but some printers have issues with Level 2 files that
contain a lot of graphics.

Re: PostScript

If you print to distiller under XP, I believe that Epic uses the default
settings of your "Acrobat Distiller" printer. I'm not sure how that works under
other systems or with Adept.

I believe that there is a bug in the way Epic and Distiller interact that makes
it use the default settings even when you tell it not to.

You can change the default distiller settings to compress graphics and text, and
to embed or not embed fonts. That will enable you to produce very small files
if that's what you want.

I hope this helps.

Re: PostScript

It might also be the driver you are using. I came across a problem with a Xerox driver (underr W2K) where the fonts are included on every page rather than just the first time they are used. This adds up quickly to a very large file.
