formatting speed
Looking for answers to my APP-related questions, I found the following in the 6.0 Help Center under"Print Engine Comparison": "In version 6.0 the FOSI engine is somewhat faster than APP, though we expect to close that gap over time." The recommendation is touse FOSI if you"require the fastest possible performance."
I checked the release notes for 6.1, but I found no mention of improved APP performance.
PTC/Arbortext does not seem to fully appreciatethe importance of formatting speed. A decrease in formatting speed could require extra hardware and personnel as well as changes to well-established publishing processes. No organization with a stable publishing system wants to make costly changes in order to accommodateslowerformatting speeds!

I shoud have included the following from Print Engine Comparison:
" XSL-FO is significantly slower, and that is unlikely to change."
