My company is trying to utilize share point to manage all of the companies documentation. They want this to include pro-e files. Does anyone have any experience with this? So far I have not found a way to use the software to keep track of revision history let alone references.

Any help is appreciated.

We use Sharepoint to give outside vendors access to documents and drawings they require. From my experience, I don't see how Sharepoint could manage Pro/E data.

I am not a Sharepoint expert by any means, but I would consider another application to manage something as important as your CAD Data. Sharepoint was designed for collaboration between users from different locations with a focus on Word Documents, Excel, Powerpoint, etc. It was not intended to manage something as complicated as CAD Data Dependencies.
