XPR,XAS files in Proe

I have few files which when seen in exploreer its type is shown as XPR & some files shown As XAS files,Can anybody help me out in understanding the same I am Using WF 4

XAS and XPR files are associated with Family Table Instances in ProEngineer. They are the Accelator files of the FT Assembly and FT Part. They come under the category of Secondary content rather than Primary content.
