BOM question

Hi I have a subassembly in top level assy, this sub-assy has family table, and in the top level assy, i use different instances of that sub-assy. when i pull out BOm in drawing, the repeat region shows the instances as in individual lines. the parameters shown in repeat region are actually from parent sub-assy and that's way I want it. so in BOM both the instances show same names & description, and qty 1 each. e.g assy.asm sub-assy.asm (parameter name : CC) family_instance1.prt (parameter name : CC) family_instance2.prt (parameter name : CC) In BOM repeat region shows index name qty 8 CC 1 9 CC 1 Question: Is there anyway in repeat region I can merge (add) both the instances and they show up once only, and the quantity as combined i.e. 2 ?

GSK, Don't know if this will work for you or not. If you create a Family Table of the top level Assembly, and create an instance where the sub-assembly is included twice at its parent level (instead of the two instances), then create the Table in your drawing based on that special-purpose top-level instance, you should get the result you are seeking. If you need to create a view of this instance which you don't want to actually see, you should be able to create and erase it. David
