Eclipse jar file - errors

Hi Everybody,

I'm using Eclipse as an IDE to program Pro/Engineer jlink Api.

When I click on a jar file, created using eclipse, I get this error
"Could not find the main class. Program will exit"

Any idea why I get this? This is only for things created using Eclipse.
My existing jar using jbuilder works fine.

Thanks,

Arvin

Arvin,
Just a shot in the dark, but J-Link does not support compressed jar
files.
Check your Eclipse preferences.

Hi Arvin,

You'll need to create a manifest file within the jar file which specifies which class file bundled in the jar should be the main class. (since there could be multiple main()'s in the jar). If you're using the Eclipse Export wizard there's an option to create one automatically with a pull-down list of possible classes for you to select. I'm assuming this is for a asynchronous J-Link application since a synchronous one wouldn't even need a main class.
