How to determine if a edge is hidden in J-Link

Hello I am trying to place UDFs in a part by selecting a edge in J-Link. Each edge of the component has a name and the J-Link application loops through the edges until it finds a specific name. But sometimes the component has a cut that removes that edge. Now I would like the J-Link application to determine if that edge can be used or not. How can J-Link determine the status of an edge? Thank you for your help.

Hey JD! Um, perhaps use a surface instead? Or, perhaps put a datum curve along the edge before the possible cut, and reference the datum curve? Just a few (random) thoughts..... Hope y'all are well down there in the swamplands! F
