toolkits.. Pro/Toolkit application Approach...Whcih language to use for GUI and database operations

Dear User,

I have develpoed application using weblink. I am going to develop an
application using Pro/Toolkit. The application has to read huge data
from oracle which will be then used for model. (total number of GUI are
also more).

Application should support multiple language apart from English

Can anyone suggest which of the following approach is BEST?

First approach can be

From the Pro/Toolkit documentation I am plannning to develop application
with

1. Pro/Toolkit UI..(Resource Files)

2. Synchronous Mode EXE using C language

3. Reading from oracle database using C ( Pro*C ) and using that
values in Pro/toolkit functions

Second approach can be

1. MFC based GUI using DAO

Third approach can be

1. GUI using VB.net using COM

I should go for Synchronous application or ASynchronous mode ? What are
the pros and cons of each mode?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Akash

Akash,

of the three options you suggested, i would go for vb
and com along with async toolkit application.

I can also suggest a fourth option! how about using
jlink, JDBC, and may be a JNI wrapper in case your
toolkit application is in C.

In my opinion Pro/E is highly sensitive to memory
leaks and I do not like it to be interfaced using MFC
or VB in sync mode.

regards
Shiv
