combining two models into one...

Guru's,

What I have is a casting model, that's merged into an "initial"
machining model, which in turn in merged into a "final" machining model.
In each of the machining models there are various cut features, and for
each model a separate drawing. What I am being asked to do now, is to
combine the "initial" and "final" into a single model and drawing. So,
I am wondering if anyone out there has been faced with a similar task,
and would have some advice, comments, or recommendations. I know I can
simply copy features from the final to the initial, and maybe that's the
best option. Just thought I would ask first.

Thanks in advance, and I will post a summary in a few days...
