Area and Perimeter

I need help with this math problem and I need the answer tonight. It is:
The diameter of a circle is 16ft. Find the area.
I don't quite understand what to do.Can you please help me? I have to show how I arrived at the answer so I have to show the work. I am only in 8th grade so try not to explain it in a hard way that I don't understand it.

Diameter=2*radius
Area of circle=pi*radius²
