try adding x4 to the solve keyword

Make sure that when you solve, you solve for something ! As there are 3 solutions [cubic solver], you may have to decide which one of the 3 is valid. If the project is about tubular heat exchanger, I'm almost sure there is a gross mistake somewhere. But going back nearly 40, let it go to some "grands savants" in this collab.

Thanks Mr.jmG
Sorry there is no error..Equation result does not displayed,I need x4 values corresponding x3 input values.....

Note:
(As u shown that,my example problem has solved)
(But plot u have done i could not understand...)

Thank u

What error? What version of Mathcad are you using?

Looking at your sheet, it seems to do exactly what is expected. You are using a range variable, and so iterating the statement, resulting in a set of solutions (a solution for each value of i). Such a set of results is displayed as though the values were elements of a vector (although it is not actually a vector, and you cannot use any vector operations on it). Since the equations are cubics each solution consists of a vector of three values (the three roots of the cubic).

And that is what you see -- a nested vector with each element a three element vector. If you change the results formatting for that statement to expand nested arrays you will see the actual values.

BTW, the use of x3 is irrelevant. You use only xei, which has been defined to be i. You can just use i instead of x3, keeps things neater and more obvious.
