Help with Equations

well i have 3 equations and 3 variables in a system that i cant find the nontrivial sollution... can anyone help me? it is in this form: -0.254x1 + 0.2x2 - 0.4x3 = 0 -0.2x1 - 0.104x2 - 0.15x3 = 0 0.4x1 +0.3x2 - 0.054x3 = 0 how can i solve x1, x2, x3?

WHat makes you think there are any non-trivial solutions? What is the rank of the matrix? What is its determinant?

So what's the answer? Have you put your solution into the equations to see if it is really a solution? Richard

here its another example: -0.01x1 -0.048x2-0.032x3=0 -0.048x1-0.024x2-0.025x3=0 -0.032x1-0.025x2-0.02x3=0 x1 +-0.8077 x2 +-0.5608 x3 +-0.1821 i forgot to tell you that x1^2 +x2^2 +x3^2 = 1
