Current challenges in Electrical Product Design are related to more compact products, with more electronical components, connected products and shorter development times. Previously the electrical distances (clearance and creepage) were checked manually in PTC Creo and were time consuming, prone to errors, not exhaustive, necessiting more prototype cycles and tests. By using SAX, hear how Schneider Electric has reduced the cost of electrical clearance checks in two recent product developments with less development cycles, less prototypes and less late issues. Schneider Electric faced SAX readiness issues as well as missing features in the global mechatronics approach, especially for importing the copper tracks on the PCB board. The presenter will also discuss the methods that had to be setup to make the savings possible and the work still underway at Schneider Electric to fully utilize SAX.
