Hi Steve, Are you using a commercial release of Pro/E? By default the University Edition saved data as a educational format. This format is not compatible with commercial releases of Pro/E. Now if you are using a student edition, then there is no problem. The student edition reads educational format. If the University is working with industry for research, they need to have the ability to save models in commercial format. The University edition ahs an option to enable that. Some university Packages have an optioned called EDU_COM that when enabled can save the models in commercial format. Again, without it enabled the data will be saved as educational format. As for users or companies not educational institutions, they are not able to purchase the university edition. Users are asked to purchase the student edition from the eStore.
