Excel Import Wf 4.0

All,

We have just switched to WF 4.0 (M110) and along with that the latest Windchill. We have also switched to Vista, along with all new Microsoft tools.

They like to ram it down here. We have our share of issues as you can imagine.

One thing that we are in need of help fixing in a hurry is importing excel to Pro/E. We import object and browse for file and seems to work, but screen is blank and does not seems to be invisible due to a color background issue - which is something we've seen before.

I am getting the feelling that it has something to do with our system overhaul and a possible mis-match with microsoft tools.

Please help,

If by Microsoft Tools you mean office, Office 2007 brought new file
formats, *.docx and *.xlsx. Might be incompatibility between the new
format and Pro|E.

Based on your window colors issue, I'd check the graphics card drivers.

There are other ways to get data between Excel and Pro/Engineer, besides using the
standard Insert->Object functionality.

Here are some Pro/WebLink based examples:

Although it can be tricky to setup due to IE security issues, it works well. If
you need something more sophisticated, let me know.
