Question regarding model instances

Hi everyone,

I'm sure there is a config.pro option to help me, but I don't know which one to use.

Example...
I have an assembly and I want to add a screw from the pro/e objlib. I locate the screw that I want to add to the assembly. I assemble the screw and save the assembly - all is well. Now, when I do a FILE, OPEN, I see all instances of the screw listed in my working directory. I only want to see the (1) one instance that I retrieved and saved into my assembly.

Any thought?

I think this started with WF4 ... the config you want is:

menu_show_instances no

You can, as was already posted, set Pro|E not to show you the instances,
but they are all still there. Also, but doing that you will only see
the generic, so the actual screw you used won't show.

What you want to do, I think, is open the screw you want from the
library, then do a file -> save as in that instance to your working
directory, giving it whatever name you want (it will have to be
different from the name in the library). That will separate that screw
from the rest of the library. Then you can assemble the new screw to
your assembly.
