Has anyone installed ProE WF4 on a Ubuntu Linux OS?

How does it work?

Not Linux, but Solaris and Opensolaris (very similar to Linux) for WF4 &
WF5. If thats any help I'll elaborate.

I would very much appreciate an elaboration! I am getting more and more nauseated by each progressive windows release and cannot fathom Mac OS. So taking a long hard look at Linux distributions to determine if there's a way to get my work done using it, or if I would have to run multiple operating systems.

Support for Pro/Engineer on Linux was discontinued quite some time ago.
Support for Mac OS-X has never existed. Solaris is not a Linux version.
Also, Solaris is a dead end, it is no longer supported for
Creo/Parametric (though this was done post WF4, so a WF4 version is
still available).

See for yourself:

Still hoping there will be an OS X verion one day...

Actually WF5 (err Creo/Elements Pro) is supported on Solaris x86. WF4 was the last version for
Solaris sparc.
Creo 1.0 and newer only supports Windows Smiley Sad

I think PTC dropped support of Linux at WF3. I'm pretty sure they only supported the Red Hat distribution (but it probably work fine on others).

PTC has completely dropped support of all non-windoze operating systems now. Not sure when that happened but Creo 2 is all windoze all the time.

Yes that's true. The last non-windows OS was for WF5 on Solaris. Although I did get WF5 running in a Virtual Box on Windows, Solaris host to create pdf's easier. I imagine it could be done with Creo 2.
