AD vs Windchill DS authentication

Designation: Non-SSA/Finmeccanica

Happy Monday everyone,

One of our sister companies has an installation of Pro/Intralink 9.0 and
uses AD for authentication. On occasion, shared engineering resources
are used to assist in periods of heavy workload. When a workstation at
another location (different corporate domain) is setup to connect to the
9.0 server the AD will not authenticate the user from a different domain
(FWB vs BUFFALO). The solution has been to duplicate the remote user in
the local domain of the site that the 9.0 server is located. The other
option is to have the 9.0 Server handle the authentication through DS.

We use the Windchill DS here is Fort Walton and have no issues with
remote users from other corporate domains. What are others doing in
these situations and are there options in Windchill that will allow the
AD logins from other corporate domains.
