People continually ask for this – various ways.
Our users continually ask for it internally.
The “Subject” column of the Task table in fact includes the PBO Number as well as other info (variable by type), but users also want to be able to display the Description of the PBO in the Tasks table.
We address this need partially by providing Reports related to Tasks (Work Items), such that we can include the Description - but this introduces another thing to deal with.
Would be great if you could just include the Description of the PBO (Subject) in the Tasks table.
One other thing that we do that helps quite a lot is to include the PBO Description in the Notification Email sent with each Task. You can do that by:
- Creating a workflow variable that is populated thru a bit of workflow helper code with the PBO Description
- Display the value of that workflow variable in the Task instructions dynamically (whatever is in the instructions is included on the email)
- To make the Description stand out, we use a bit of HTML code in the Task instructions to format the Description inn a table row and in a different color.
