Can we use Oracle Database Express Edition 11g Release 2 for WC Database instead of Oracle Standers or Enterprise

Hello,

I am trying to install the Windchill but I don't have oracle enterprise or stander edition will it be possible to use Oracle Express Edition 11g for our Windchill Database installation

While it may be technically possible to use it for a DEV environment (we don't use it), it is not usable for a PROD or TEST System.

These are the licensing terms for Express Edition:

Oracle Express Edition

Oracle XE is a free version of Oracle that is limited to 1 processor, 1 GB RAM and 4 GB of data. It is also limited to 1 database on a computer, since the database must be named XE which must be unique.

Oracle Standard Edition One is the cheapest route

Thanks Gray for your response,

so In that case I will have to keep my DB name XE only or I can change it ? as well

also can I use MySQL Server 5.5 to install the Windchill Database

You would need to stick with using the DB name

MySQL is not supported as a DB - only Oracle or MS SQL Server
