Version: Windchill 12.1
Use Case: I have two roles, RoleA and RoleB that should be able to create change notices. RoleA can but RoleB cannot.
Description:
The policies for the two roles are the same for Change Notice and Change Task. The roles are also both part of the Change Notice Team and Change Activity Team templates. The roles are part of the Product that CNs are being created in. When I look at the CN folder permissions, RoleA has Create where RoleB does not. What could I be missing?
Make sure users assigned to RoleB have a Windchill Base or better license.
Can you validate in the Policy Administration by looking at the "View Access Control Lists" tool. Do both roles exactly match? Are you seeing actions missing or greyed out for the role that is denied access? screen shots?
@avillanueva Here are the ACLs. We use a custom interface for creating CNs. Design Engineer can but Packaging Engineer cannot.
Can Packaging Engineer create CNs through the standard interface? Maybe it's something in the customization
@joe_morton I will have to test that out. I have to go back in and find the menu to unhide that selection. I'll reply back after I check that out.
@joe_morton after getting it setup to do manually, I found that it is the customization. Now just to figure out what in the customization is causing this. Both roles are in the teams for the Product and the Change Notice Team template.
