Cannot register a ProE session to the server.

Hi Guys:

This one is stumping us. We have setup a Windchill 10.1 M010 test server and we are having trouble registering a server in a CreoElements Pro/M140 session. When we do this we get:

SOAP HTTP Error: 500, Internal server Error.

Do you wish to connect in offline mode? > No > Server is currently not available. Check your connectrion or contact an administrator.

We are also having trouble getting drawings and models to load in CreoView. We think these problems might be connected.

Note that the standalone and embeded browser work fine excpet for the CreoView problem.

We have tried PTC tech support to no avail so far. Any ideas?

Please note that we had a previous test server using the exact same software builds before and it was working fine. We rebuilt and imported the latest Windchill dump from our production server as a last test before going live when this happened.

Logan,

Did you end up figuring out was wrong in your situation? We imported our production Windchill 10 M030 database over to our test server, same Windchill configuration, and did a test migration to move from Oracle to MS SQL. Connecting to the test Windchill server with an external browser seems to work fine. Attempting to connect with Pro/E (WF4 M220) it refuses. The register new server dialog accepts the name & location and my credentials, but never lists workspaces - the OK button is never selectable (and all the workspace show up fine from an external browser). Typing in the test server name/Windchill in the internal browser address bar seems to connect, but when you go to activate a workspace the "do you want to work offline" message comes up along with the "SOAP HTTP Error: 500, Internal Server Error" in the Pro/E message bar. Trying to then take the server connection from offline to online via Server Manager yields the pop-up error "the server servername is currently not available. Check your connection to the server or contact an administrator". I was planning to do the production Oracle to SQL migration this weekend, but need to iron out why this happened on the test server first.

No we have not. We have a call with PTC but they have still not resolved the issue. One person at PTC from the forum suggested disabling the imbedded Tomcat servlet. We don't know how to do that and we are still waiting to hear back from PTC on that as well. We also tried using the latest build of Creo Elements pro and it says that the server does not support our version of ProE.

Let me know if you find anything out.

Thanks.
