Deleted WorkItem error message

Question from user, I saw a thread on this but must be really old. Can
PDMLink, if my WorkItem has been completed or deleted already, direct me
to the EC it was from or in some way indicated what happened to the
task? I do not think it's possible. The email link to the WorkItem
contains no other information. If it is deleted, as I believe it is in
these cases, there would be no information for the server to go on. Not
possible, right?

A completed workitem is not deleted, unless you have some kind of code
that deletes it.

Also, a workitem is associated with a wfassignedactivity, that will also
be completed when all of its workitems are completed.

You can use query builder with a few joins of workitem to
wfassignedactivity, etc, to get most of what you are looking for.

If you are looking for lifecycle history "votes" then you can get that
with query builder too by linking to the primary business object from the
workitem, and from there to the lifecycle history.

A few things about a task might be stored in a way that you cannot get at
with querybuilder, but not much.

We had a bunch of QB reports on Work Items, but got what seemed like screwy results.

Then we learned that Work Items do in fact get routinely get deleted (via a queue) - 100 each is set OTB. One can "turn off" the deletion of them if desired. After consideration, this seems like the best way to leave things, and deal just with Lifecycle History for reporting.

This is different. Its not a completed WorkItem. If I send a task to a role with two people, I get two WorkItems. If the first person completes their WorkItem, I believe that the second one is deleted and the user get that error. Am I correct in that the second one is deleted?
