Display Preferences Being Overwritten?

In order to have users' default screen at loginbe the "Home" major tab vs. "Product" tab, we are setting the "Return to Context on Login" preference to 'No' underHome > Utilities > Preference Manager > Display. This works for some users but not for others. We are wondering if perhaps Internet Explorer is overriding the preference somehow? Has anyone else had this issue? The users who have success with this and those who do not are all running IE 8. We've tried clearing temporary memory in IE and rebooting to see if that causes the preference to take hold but no success so far.

Issue solved, everyone - boy is my face red :)...turns out the link I was using to access PDMLink had the "product" context embedded in it. Upon correcting the URL, this solution works just fine!
