From the Pro/INTRALINK 9.0 Training:
"Specific variants of end items within a product context can be defined through product configurations. For example, consider the variations of the spinning reel when manufactured in the United States, Europe, or Asia. Another example could be the variations of the spinning reel as produced in Basic, Deluxe, and Super Deluxe models. Because of the product configuration capabilities in Windchill, you would typically only have one product context containing all the variants instead of a product context for each one."
Configure a product in Pro/INTRALINK 9.x? I didn't think Pro/I had this function.
