Drop number file extensions

Hi all,

I know there is a preference that allows me to drop the file extensions for CAD documentnumbers on upload (12345.prt becomes 12345). I would like to use this so that my WTParts will not include extensions when auto associated. The issue is this, I have CAD parts and drawings or CAD assemblies and drawings with the same name. What I would really like to do is to drop the extensions on CAD parts and assemblies and leave them on drawings. That way I would not have two objects with the same number.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

You want the CAD part (part or assembly) and the CAD drawing file to be associated to the same WTpart.
WTparts should not have the extension on them by default, but I may be wrong.

WTpart - 125623
CAD Assembly - 125623.asm
CAD part - 123654.prt
CAD part - 456123.prt
CAD Drawing - 125623.drw

I found the correct way to handle this. There is a preference:

Auto Associate Truncate Number File Extension

That you must set to yes in order to allow this to work correctly.
