The first character is one of the following: Release Type First Character Alpha <if released> A Beta <if released> B Preproduction <if released> C Feature Release F Maintenance Release M The last three characters consist of a 3-digit number that increments (by 10) each time a product release occurs. For example: C000 - the preproduction release of a product F000 - the official Feature release of a product M010 - the first maintenance release (There would never be an M000 release.) M020 - the second maintenance release M030 - the third maintenance release and so on
