Export CAD from Windchill

Gurus,

Is it possible to copy CREO files from Windchill to local drive?

We want to allow a user to login to WindChill, select creo files, and copy them to his computer with the understanding that these files will never be checked back in. Right now this user has read/only access and does not have any workspaces. Is this possible?

Ps...Sorry for the duplicate posts but I'm not sure if this is a CREO question or a Windchill question.

CREO 2.0 m110

Windchill 10.0 m030

Thanks,

Eric

This can be done but not with Read only access. This level of access only
allows the user to see that the object exists in Windchill. He can't open
the models. Therefore, a workspace will not help him because he can't get
anything into the workspace. You need to grant him "Download" access. Once
you do that, the user can add objects to his workspace from the Creo
interface. Once there, he can select his objects in the workspace and from
the Tools menu at the top of the workspace window, he can select "Export"
and choose where on his computer he would like to store the files. The
system is intelligent enough to export all the required objects.

Nope. As of 9.1 M050 PTC has discontinued the ability to directly download Creo CAD files from Windchill. You either have to add them to a package or export them from workspace connected to a running session of Creo.

I have had a solution in place for years letting us download CAD from 9.1 M060.
PTC Tech Support gave me a custom solution for 10.2 also.

DO NOT copy/paste directly from any MS product.
You will pick up stray Unicode/invisible characters and it will not work.
Rewrite everything if you have to.
