I only received one email on this. Their suggestion was to run in Vista compatibility mode. Problem is that I was already doing that.
So I decided to uninstall and reinstall both Intralink and ProE. However this time I decided to install them using the "Run as Administrator" option. Now everything works fine. Since I was in the admin group, I didn't think that I needed to install the programs that way. I learned something new.
