Fresh install of Intralink 3.4 with M070 SP

I'm setting up a VM to replace our physical Intralink 3.4 server. This will probably be the final install of IL 3.x for us and I'd like to get it up to 3.4 M070. As usual, when installing an Intralink server, I'm thoroughly confused as to what media I need and in what order.

I'm installing on Server 2003 R2 with SP2, 32bit. The VM is assigned 2 CPU cores and 2GB of ram at the moment. Using ESX Server 3i 3.5.0 on a Dell PowerEdge 2950 with SAN storage.

What version of Intralink do I need to start with to get to the M070 Service Pack?

I have JDK/JRE 1.5.0_11 installed.
I'm starting with the R3.4 OSA M060 and Oracle 10.2.0.3.0, is that correct?

I keep getting a Java error when running the OSA assisted Oracle installation:

The installation is aborting due to an unexpected error.

According to the "Read this first" document of Pro/I 3.4 M070 I would recommend to install the JRE 1.6.0_07 first.
Another note says, that OSA 3.4 M070 is required.

Regards, Domenic

Yes but don't you need to install the earlier version M060 first?

Again; this is the confusing part; what do I need to start with to get to M070, it's a service pack, not the full product.

Ian

I don't think, that the upgrade from M060 to M070 is necessary.
There was just a case with the data server.
If you want to upgrade from a prior releas than M062, then you first have to migrate it to M062, before you can go on to M070.

Regards, Domenic

Ian,

I agree that this stuff is way more confusing than it needs to be. But
the same was true of IL 3.4/M050, which supposedly had to be installed
on top of M011 or M012. Yet M050 turned out to be a full release that
didn't need to be installed over anything.

Shame on PTC for making us have to go through such nonsense.
